struts work but too much compression; And it is necessary to use the old/original ball joint locks

Would give 4 stars but as some others have reported after opening the window a few times the 'lock' sliding clasp will open over time and let the Connect to come free!. The solution was to unbolt the original ball joint assembly from the old struts and use it. Racks are pretty tight, I hope they will recover over time.
