Power supply 12V, 40A, 500W (Hongwei HW-12V-500W) Review

I only checked the performance, I didn’t load it much (there wasn’t a load at hand). I connected a car lamp 12V 4.3A. The primary current is 0.25A at 220V. Didn't check the setting. The feedback can be considered positive.

I took it to a 180 W compressor pump, which had already "killed" more than one power supply (12V to 200W), but this time I decided to take a power supply with a margin - I attached a 220 plug and a car socket to it. It works well, the compressor pulls, it shows 12.3V at idle, you can adjust plus or minus a couple of volts by adjusting the unit. If anything - swap the neutral (N) and phase (L) in reverse, it works, since the voltage is simply rectified)

I bought for a Chinese diesel autonomous heater 12 volts for a garage. At 220 appeared not so long ago in stores. Handles great. Later bought another 12 volt heater. I was not sure that the power supply would pull two heaters, but I decided to try it, since a 220-volt heater costs more than a 12-volt + power supply. For myself, I immediately decided to “finish” a little: I installed a Chinese digital voltmeter and brought out a voltage adjustment potentiometer. The result is a range of 10.5 - 14.5 V without load. I am satisfied

The block is fully consistent with its characteristics. For the purposes of the experiment, I was able to load it up to 150 W, there was a slight voltage drop. I liked that the unit has a voltage regulator

Everything would be fine if not for the fan noise. As the output voltage increases, fan noise increases significantly. Obviously powered by the output voltage. It is necessary to disassemble to put a variable resistor on the fan. Other than that it's good for the price. Analogues are 2 times more expensive. There is no desire to from a PC power supply to get 12v.

Purchased for a tape 15 meters long and 14 watts per meter. The fan is very noisy and starts immediately with the inclusion of the unit itself, there is no speed control. However, this does not matter, because the power reserve of the block itself is quite sufficient.
