Elastic holds only the narrowest of grips.
You can hold a ballpoint pen or a thin mechanical pencil in it and nothing else. Even my artist's Pitt crayons are too thick to fit in. The glue doesn't stick too well either. I'm only giving it a few stars because it can technically hold a pen, but it's useless to me and now I can't take it off without damaging the notebook. Too bad because their books are great quality, it's just that the loop doesn't work for anything other than a ballpoint pen, I hope it can stretch a bit with use, otherwise I just end up with this loop hanging off my notebook's base. .
