I am a fanatic of elastic rubber bands in my 50's. My waste comes in different sizes, belly and hips. The waistband is much more comfortable than the drawstring shorts which, on my smaller size, keep falling down and then getting too big. I'm about 6,220, not huge. These shorts have a very wide ribbing - maybe 2 inches +. They're like sweatpants. Super comfortable. Highly recommended. I did not subscribe to the style of clothing that requires shorts to fit the size of the hips and a sagging stomach.
