Not bad but the quality could be better

Well I've been using this unit for a few months and wanted to wait until I could test it to give a review. I live on the coast so we have it on most of the time. Here are some pros, cons and thoughts. Advantages: 1) Protects the steering wheel from rain and sun as intended. 2) Fairly lightweight and easy to put on and take off by one person. Cons: 1) With the radio antenna down and the one with the rubber tip, this cover caught on and actually punched a hole. Not that big of a deal (not as big as the next scam) but something to watch out for. 2) A more serious problem is that the company appears to have fallen in price. Very cheap, on a cord that tightens the lid. After a few months the cord is dry rotted and you can literally pull out small pieces of cord (unfortunately I found that out when the cord broke and kept trying to tie it as the cord kept snapping, just tying the knot. Overall, it is a decent sheath but literally about $1 more they could invest in a MUCH better line that lasts outside...because that's where the sheath is used!I'll see if I can tie it with a parachute line now, something, that it had to have from the manufacturer where you can literally buy 100 feet for about $10 which makes it more stunning it's not standard.

Pros
  • Automotive
Cons
  • Pretty much everything is fine
