Looking for a small and lightweight lens to replace my Fujinon 23mm f2.0 (silver paint on black body just didn't suit me; I also lacked the tactile feedback of a manual lens ) on my X-T3. Enter Meike 25mm f1.8. Good price. The all-metal construction is solid and the knurling on the focus and aperture rings feels very comfortable in the hand. The polished metal ring at the bottom (difficult to see in product photos) is a nice touch. The lens just looks good and feels very good in front of the camera. Most importantly, the overall image quality I received from this lens far exceeded my expectations. Overall, the sharpness and contrast are more than adequate for my everyday shots, and shooting with this combination is a pleasure. The images just pop up. The bad: The focus ring encounters a sort of slight resistance (a kind of plastic-on-plastic rubbing) at varying distances when fully rotated. I hope this is a milling related tolerance issue that will go away after a while. The lens also looks like it tends to have more flare compared to Fuji lenses. A lens hood should be enough to make up for this (open to good recommendations; not a fan of vented types). Summary: A small, affordable and ergonomic lens that has its own characteristics. Just put it on your camera and you will probably fall in love with photography all over again.
