Great little lens for what it is!

Great little lens but don't buy again, send back. All other lenses have infinity on the left, this lens is backwards. And a broken diaphragm is just a wild pain. not a sticker fan at all! I'm one of those people who set and forget, don't have to keep checking. All in all it's a really great lens, I'm just picky and take it badly.

  • Sturdy design

Perfect budget lens

Unbelievable. I very rarely write reviews but I came here to say the lens is amazing, especially at this price point. I bought this to pair with my X-Pro2 and was blown away by the image quality - the lens has a lightweight, simple design and is very compact. As a precaution, this is a manual lens and I'm sure if you look closely at the images you can see a slight loss of detail compared to a more expensive lens. This is the perfect lens for general photography, from landscapes to street…

Looks like a 1960's Pentax Takumar; surprisingly good for infrared

I like this little lens. In terms of smoothness and overall quality, it reminds me of good Takumar lenses from the 1960s on Pentax cameras of that era. I bought it primarily for infrared photography with a Kolari modified Fuji X-E2 - you'd be shocked to learn how many expensive lenses are rubbish when it comes to infrared. The Meike 25mm f1.8 isn't perfect in this regard, but it's great in color up to f5.6 and black and white up to f8, which is great. just right for the contrast. It tends to…

GREAT lens for your money BUT.

This lens takes REALLY GOOD pictures for the money. I had to think long and hard about whether to go or return. But the lack of clicks on the aperture ring and the too-tight fit on the camera body killed the deal. I am using the X-T30 and the Fuji manual focusing with Split Image, Digital Microprism, Focus Peak Highlight etc. was too complicated for this lens. If Fuji made a split prism like the old Nikon F-System, this lens (or any other manual lens) might have a chance. In any case, all the…

Manual focus, good workmanship, image quality beats its weight

I mainly use this lens on my Fuji X-H1. At $70 shipping, I thought it was worth the risk to have something smaller and lighter than the adapted old lens mount. Little Mike did not disappoint. The images above are JPEGs of Fuji, slightly flavored and in their Classic Chrome film imitation. If your camera is equipped with an advanced high-resolution electronic viewfinder, you will find it easy to focus manually even in low light. Haven't tried to print anything large with this lens yet, but for…

Reliable and affordable lens

Looking for a small and lightweight lens to replace my Fujinon 23mm f2.0 (silver paint on black body just didn't suit me; I also lacked the tactile feedback of a manual lens ) on my X-T3. Enter Meike 25mm f1.8. Good price. The all-metal construction is solid and the knurling on the focus and aperture rings feels very comfortable in the hand. The polished metal ring at the bottom (difficult to see in product photos) is a nice touch. The lens just looks good and feels very good in front of the…

A hit for beginners

Maybe it's my specimen or I'm a bit of a noob but this lens is really good. The important things first; Build quality is excellent, solid metal, the focus and aperture rings are well-damped, the aperture ring is a bit stiffer than the focus but in a way that makes changes more deliberate. The look of the lens completely complements my camera body and gives it a retro look. Image quality is pretty decent, I stop from f2.8 to f4.0 to sharpen the image, but image quality wide open, assuming you…

Great lens to enjoy

I've been a photographer for almost 50 years. I wanted to try this lens for at least a year but was concerned about the quality. I don't mind spending money, but I hate wasting it. Well, let me tell you. I love the lens. He has an interesting quality. I can't explain it any more than it looks like my old film cameras. It may not be as sharp as some of the others I have or have had, but I don't consider sharpness to be the pinnacle of a great lens for the things I love to photograph. Different…
