I have wide legs. It's okay to admit it because it makes finding shoes a chore. *Most* trail running shoes are very narrow, making your foot feel like it's wrapped in a sausage casing. These trail running shoes are surprisingly roomy in the toe of a Saucony shoe and the material has some stretch. They are not as comfortable as, for example, one-piece knit shoes, these shoes are just around the corner. The tread is perfect for the trails I hike, offering traction in almost every direction with a chevron bottom *and* it's sort of a counterbalance going in the opposite direction. I ran loose and rocky trails, climbed a big rock and just ran through the grass. I felt safe with every step. I haven't delved into the custom options (drilling holes in the bottom, adding screws, etc.) but for more experienced runners this will be a nice addition.
