Seems ok - my opinion

I have never tried this type of shoes before (stretchy, tighter). I think I like it when my foot doesn't move in the shoes. Appropriate course characteristics (up/down, rocks, roots, dirt patches). I considered going for a 9.5 as my toe box was so close to the bottom of the shoe; However, I found that the price of the shoes increased by $30 in two days, so I abandoned the plan. I would pay $79 for this utility shoe, but $109 is close to the price of a better shoe.

Pros
  • Light good hold
Cons
  • Thick and narrow toe

Very comfortable and customizable

Trail running use. The wearing comfort is on the level of my road bike shoes. I bought them because they were the most similar to the Kinvara series except for the trails. Nice, soft and very comfortable upper. The lack of language is also very nice. The lacing can be customized for almost any task as it features two pairs of eyelets. Generally good shoes.

Pros
  • For many years I have used Sauconys solely for their high hitch, good fit and durability.
Cons
  • Tends to break after just a few uses

Requires some kind of stone protection

It would be a great shoe if it had some sort of rock chip protection. You can feel every stone, no matter how small. I totally agree with the road feel, but it's too strong. So if you run on rocky trails, this shoe might not be for you. My Altra Escalante offers more protection than this shoe.

Pros
  • The Mad River TR has a stylish and unique design.
Cons
  • Plastic parts are prone to cracking and breaking

Nice trip in my opinion

One of my favorite running shoes of all time. I wear out most soles too quickly, but these hold up well. I like crystal rubber very much.

Pros
  • They are made by the respected and recognized Saucony brand.
Cons
  • Not environmentally friendly

Not consistently the best in my rating

I liked these shoes for the short time they lasted. I've never walked in it, just walked on concrete. Holes appeared on the inner heels and the rubber on the sole wore out completely in about 2.5 months of simple walking. This is unacceptable for shoes. Shoes have never worn out so quickly. I will not buy Saucony again.

Pros
  • Saucony trail running shoes
Cons
  • Lack of flexibility

Great shoe review from me

Took them out of the box and immediately set out on a 5-10 mile hike. Very convenient from day one, no need to hack. The waterproof seal on the bottom keeps feet dry.

Pros
  • The shoes are comfortable to wear thanks to the soft sole.
Cons
  • Bad cushioning

Good shoe box is the best in my rating

The first thing that struck me when I put these shoes on was the sock. It's spacious. The toes are not cramped or tense. They feel like a broken pair of shoes. I spend 8-10 hours a day walking the post route, which can be anywhere from 10-14 miles long. It's roomy enough to wear thicker socks and has two sets of lace holes. I've been wearing these shoes for about two weeks and they are holding up very well. At this point, the sole strength of most of the shoes I wear begins to weaken. These…

Pros
  • Great suspension for the pronator.
Cons
  • High level of service

Shoes damaged after little use.

Only after a few runs in this shoe did it start breaking in the shoe. See photos. I can't use it because it would hurt my legs. It happened in the middle of a marathon and I lost that marathon because my legs hurt.

Pros
  • Super comfy and great for a good hike
Cons
  • minimum depreciation

Comfortable Saucony men's tennis

If you're on your feet all day, these are comfy pieces of clothing. They are durable, fit perfectly and are worth the money. Bought twice.

Pros
  • They are reasonably priced compared to other trail running shoes on the market.
Cons
  • Light color prone to staining

Pleasantly good for me

You are beautiful. Saucony, if you're reading this, please make the exact same shoe in a hiking/touring shoe with a stiffer sole and reinforced upper. They're optimal for concrete or flat dirt, they breathe like no other and are solidly built from what I've seen.

Pros
  • The upper is made of durable materials and offers good breathability.
Cons
  • Lack of flexibility

The most comfortable shoes

Amazing comfort. Ideal for hiking on unpaved paths or long walks with dogs. I have a greyhound pooch who enjoys walking 6-12 miles a day and these shoes are always comfortable.

Pros
  • The shoes are light, which is important when trail running.
Cons
  • Limited size options

Great fit and support

I first took them on a local run around the area - mostly tarmac but there are primers too. Comfortable, good grip. I'm looking forward to my half marathon in November. Love the lace options as well as the ability to add traction with screws on the bottom - which I'll try when the ice hits Michigan. This is my first pair of running shoes but if I can expect that from Saucony running shoes I will be buying many more!

Pros
  • Great comfortable shoes
Cons
  • Limited traction on uneven ground

As close to perfection as possible

Wow! What a phenomenal shoe overall. I usually wear a size 10, but a size 9.5 fits my foot well. Durability 10/10, style 8/10. It has long laces and 2 different holes if you have wide feet. I use these shoes for everything: trail running, hiking, biking and I also wear them to work (I work 10+ hours a day in a restaurant). I bought 2 pairs because I loved the design and the variety of uses.

Pros
  • I have never been disappointed with the Saucony, a great shoe, had to buy a spare pair to stay on the ice.
Cons
  • Not suitable for intensive outdoor activities

Wear of the inner material.

Only after 2 months of wearing shoes does the inner fabric wear out on each heel. I had to trust my intuition when opening the shoes on the day of delivery and sending the shoes back. They didn't look or feel like rugged trail running shoes.

Pros
  • Outsole offers good grip on uneven ground
Cons
  • narrow seat

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very comfortable but not durable

They are very comfortable and supportive but not durable. I rode them about 600 miles in 6 months - walking and jogging on a 50/50 mix of tarmac and trail. The upper held up, but the outsole lugs were completely worn from the center to the outside of the forefoot and back of the heel. My previous Asics lasted about 5 times longer. That being said, these Sauconys are now selling for about half what I paid for, so I'm considering getting another pair.

Pros
  • The Mad River TR is a versatile shoe that can also be used for hiking or walking.
Cons
  • Lack of arch support

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great pair of shoes.

This was my first Saucony pair. I really liked the design and they are very comfortable. As long as they hold up well. Will probably buy this pair again next time.

Pros
  • Totally happy with this show. Comfortable and great profile for trail running. I recommend!
Cons
  • May contribute to joint pain and injury

Fantastic! last rating

Very comfortable trail running shoes. I've driven them 207 miles and they don't show much wear. I think they will go 500 miles, maybe more. I don't run in it as much as I walk. I have run in them and they are surprisingly comfortable to walk in. I was expecting them to be a little chunky, heavy or clunky, just a little, but they were fantastic. I haven't run more than 4 miles in them (about 8 minutes per mile) so I can't comment on how they feel on long runs. But they're great for short runs…

Pros
  • Very soft shoes. Wet them, and the vents helped remove moisture.
Cons
  • Lack of stylistic versatility.

Great value for a good shoe

This is my second pair of Mad River Tr. I'm not a big fan of white camo but they live on the trail so color isn't a priority for me. Perfect size 10, spacious toe box, good heel fit.

Pros
  • Zapatos muy comodos. compraria otros otra vez
Cons
  • Requires frequent cleaning to maintain appearance

Back for a second review

Crazy because I never review anything but this is my SECOND review. I liked these shoes (hence the first review) and how they fit, but they have been worn for about a year and both shoes have small holes. I guess it's where the edge of my finger touches it, but I always wear socks with it. It sucks, but the quality doesn't seem that great here.

Pros
  • I use this product for trail running. 8 miles straight out of the box, no hot spots or blisters.
Cons
  • Less durable than other trail running shoes.

Great shoes in my review

These are very comfortable shoes. Fit perfectly and they have great support, perfect for everyday use when you walk a lot. I didn't use them for running.

Pros
  • Great shoes. I use them on the golf course and they hold up well.
Cons
  • Mediocre performance
