Not Reliable - Wireless Access Points

Please note that the picture of the device shown here is sometimes incorrect, but sometimes it is. If it looks like a weird box with a notch on the bottom, the picture is correct. If it looks like a legged airship, the picture is wrong. The WLA-G54C is a repeater designed for use with other Buffalo wireless LAN products. It is used to extend the range of your network. Your DLS or cable modem must be connected to your wireless Buffalo router. You can then move the WLA-G54A to another room to extend the wireless range. This worked for me to get the signal to the remote bedroom. The problem with the WLA-G54C was that it kept losing network. You have to unplug and plug it back in to reset it. This happened every few days. I was planning on calling Buffalo to see what I could do to make it more reliable. But my Buffalo router is down and I need to fix it first. (My Buffalo router was only 2 months old). Once I get my Buffalo router back I'll see if I can get the repeater working. Buffalo offers 24/7 expert technical support in the USA. However, you must wait 30 minutes to an hour before contacting anyone. The initial setup of the Buffalo repeater failed and I had to call tech support to get through. The concept is great. When it worked, it worked great. I was able to get a strong signal into my secluded bedroom. Other solutions I've tried didn't work (like buying more powerful antennas). However, the system was not reliable enough to be used in practice.
