Stylish Radio Sangean

I bought this radio to replace my beloved Grundig Yacht Boy which started making strange noises and howling with every movement. Sangean is a brand I've been reading about for years and knowing their reputation I decided to give it a try. ADVANTAGES: * Graceful appearance. Two speakers, compact design. I bought the blue and white model which is different from most others.* Security features. The radio, like the phone case, is covered with rubber to prevent damage when dropped.* Easy to use. Easy to set up.* Sound quality. Reliable as expected, with some quirks. CONS: * No power adapter included. I didn't care because I never use it anyway, but for those who do, not having an AC adapter is annoying and cheap.* No tone dialing. My Yacht Boy gives the listener the ability to boost high frequencies to make speech easier to understand. It doesn't, although range seems good so far *Loss of signal. If the signal is weak, Sangean will turn it off mid-program. The effect is similar to cable TV when the cable fails. The solution is to move the radio and lengthen the antenna. If the signal is good then there is no problem.* The default status is annoying. I want to switch from FM to AM immediately. My Grundig allowed me to lock say 91.5 on preset 1 and 670 on preset 2. Here, to switch from FM to AM, I have to first select a band (FM 1, then FM 2, then AM 1) before I can access AM presets.* No SW section. While it was on my Yacht Boy I rarely used it so I don't miss it. Just be aware that shortwave radio still exists and this one is not one of them.
