My first thought was that this device could be of the same mold as Samsung's OEM device. However, upon closer inspection, I found that this unit has a matte black finish, while the OEM unit has a semi-matte black finish. There's even a magnet to keep the watch in place. There is a difference in indicator lights: OEM Samsung This power supply has no light. Red light is charging. Flashing blue light. Flashing blue light Fully charged. Permanent green light. Continuous blue light. This device never gets hot or heats up, neither does the watch. No notifications on the watch, that's not a matching charger either. The OEM connector has an output rating of only 0.7 amps. I believe that those who complain of the device/watch getting hot is because they are using a plug rated at more than 1.0 amp, which causes the charger and watch to get too hot and destroys the watch's battery becomes. Ideal as a replacement or backup device.
