Review on ⚡ PL-259 Coaxial Lightning Arrestor: UHF Female to Female Surge Protector for Base Station CB HAM Radio by Jerimiah Augustine

Revainrating 5 out of 5

CaThisn is inexpensive.

This coaxial surge arrester appears to be well made, it uses a single gas voltage clamp to discharge surges in excess of around 90 volts. Is this breakdown voltage low enough to avoid damage to your radios? Depends on the design of your radio. I've had phone surge arresters that prevent incoming transients from damaging phones and they work. I just hope this device performs as well as the phone arresters I've used in the past. Working in telecommunications, I've seen what equipment can do to lightning strikes. And when the impact is strong and direct, there's little stopping it from damaging your gear. Some protection is better than none.-BC
