My son bought this for me for Christmas and it looks so good on my granite counter. It's not too thick, the grain of the wood makes it elegant, and I've used it for a cheese board and for slicing veggies, and it works great with no deep grooves. I had to pack it in my luggage and fly home about 1000 miles in a padded suitcase and nothing happened as it is very durable. It has little rubber feet on the bottom of each corner that keep it just a little off the counter in case there is water on my countertop. Rubber feet also prevent it from moving, you need to buy it for yourself or as a gift.
