I bought this for my Eclectus Parrot. He likes it and it suits him. The only thing is that there aren't many big beans like pintos or other big red beans (not sure about the name). It was mainly small peas, small lentil beans and rice. So I added my Peruvian beans and pinto beans. You need to soak it for at least 8 hours for it to cook. If you soak it for just a few hours, it will cook a lot longer and won't come out quite right. So I soak it overnight and start cooking it in the morning. I make a large batch and put them in the freezer in little bags. Then I can take one out every day. This bag will last approximately 1 1/2 to 2 months. Depending on how many birds you have. I have one so it lasted about 2 months. If you need something with lentil beans and another good eclectus mix, you can soak it for 15 minutes and serve. This is great if you're bringing your parrot and don't have a place to soak and cook. I bought a Featherglow 15 Minute Soak and Serve to take away. All you have to do is fill up with boiling water, pour the mixture over it and leave for 15 minutes and you are done. You can just add fresh or frozen veggies. I don't give it to him every day, but it's great for relaxing with your bird, especially your eclect who can't survive on seeds and nuts alone. I will definitely be buying another batch of this soak and simmer. I can't find another bean mix anywhere. Neither Petco nor Petsmart have anything like this!
