This is a great tool. I have an old car and I took it to a local mechanic and they charged me $65 just to tell me what's wrong with the car (so-called inspection fee). I was frustrated because $65 seemed ridiculous and then I started researching to find out. An OBD2 scanner can tell you almost everything about your car. So I got this scanner for less than what I paid at the mechanic store. Well, to pay upfront I told all my friends if you ever light that deadly 'CHECK ENGINE' light on your car instead of going to the mechanic, grab a beer and ill tell you what's up is. It's pretty easy to scan and you can put a code in this little gadget and it will tell you exactly what's wrong. Sometimes it's a very small thing that you can do it yourself if you are a little savvy. If you're not handy, at least you know that an oxygen sensor is $50, not a whopping $350 at a mechanical shop (again, I know $350 involves labor as well, but it's pretty easy, you can watch it Youtube)
