In the introduction to this review I would like to say that I have straight thick Asian hair (medium length) and I work as a nurse in a hospital so I need something that can handle walking around and patients moving around to help. I've tried MANY lipsticks and this one is second only to Imperial's Classic Pomade and Suavecito's Firme Hold. I've also tried Layrite, JS Sloane, Cock Grease, etc. Longevity: 10/10. As above, this article keeps my thick, straight Asian hair in a flawless style during my 12-hour nurse shift. A big plus is that it goes a bit far. I usually have to use a little more product on Imperial and Suavecito than other people for my hair type. Even after a hard workout at the gym, my hair stays in place. If I leave the product on overnight, just a few hairs won't twist and turn while I sleep. Odor: 10/10. Smells AMAZING. It has a fresh, slightly masculine scent. Much better than the Imperial Melon and better than the musky, overpowering Suavecito. Working capacity: 8.5/10. This is the only spot where Hair Craft loses a few points. According to the instructions, it should be used on dry hair. If you want a matte look (which I want), but if you have thick, straight hair and need a little more time to apply the product, things get a little tricky. If you don't use a comb, this product works well and looks great when styled with your fingers. The product dries fairly quickly, so if you use a comb you'll have to brush and style it a bit faster than Suavecito. Either that or apply when your hair is slightly damp, but then you won't get as much of a matte finish. Shine: 10/10 (compared to other lipsticks). 9/10 (for my personal taste). Dries semi-matt as stated. Actually has a matte look than Imperial & Suavecito which I really like. I'd love an ultra-matte product like Hanz de Fuko Ton (it's my go-to product when I have short to medium hair), but for lipsticks, it's top notch when it comes to 'matte'. Washability: 10/10. Washable with water, even before shampooing. Probably the easiest lipstick I've ever tried! I was skeptical of how easily it washes off because it lists "beeswax" as an ingredient. My hair is already soft, but it's actually soft right after the shower, even the next day (probably due to the argan oil listed in its formulation). Sometimes Suavecito can dry out my hair and scalp and make my dandruff worse. I haven't had any problems with dry hair or dandruff. Redesign: 9/10. No worse than the Imperial. Same as Suavesito. A day after you apply the product the product sticks so well that you have to add a little more water to restyle it or else you will be pulling your hair as your fingers or comb are not as easy to slip off and that product is washed off. so easy (blessings and curses) until you can restore it, you've washed out part of the product so it loses its shelf life. But all you have to do is add something and you're done. Packaging: 10/10. My friend is a graphic designer so I know the packaging and they got it right! Classic black case with silver lettering/accents. Good choice of fonts and graphics throughout the product. The hard plastic container doesn't have a recycling symbol, which is a shame. Total: 9.6/10tldr; As I said: strong hold, satin finish. Holds up VERY well. Smells GREAT. Washes off easily. ***UPDATE*** After using this product for a few months and now on my 2nd dose I have to make some changes to my reviews which have brought this product down a bit. Retention: 9/10 (vs. 10/10). The hold is really strong which I like, it's a bit too crunchy when dry like a gel. Odor: 10/10. Still the best smelling product ever! Machinability: 7/10 (vs. 8.5/10). As mentioned above, the product dries too quickly for my liking, so it needs to be styled fairly quickly. Once it dries it will be difficult to change because then it will lose its hold. Gloss: 9/10 (no change). Dries semi-matt as indicated. Wash: 10/10 (no change). See above. Redesign: 6/10. Hardly any room to rearrange. Dries out and then loses its hold when you run the comb through your hair, even with a little water on the comb. Packing: 10/10 (no change). As mentioned above. The new average. Score: 8.7/10. Works great if you plan on not touching your hair 12-16 hours after styling.
