I have had Vitamix for 10 years and have been having problems with it lately. I started looking at newer models but couldn't spend all the money and kept putting it off. When I was offered this Ninja blender I was excited to try it but thought it would be ok given the price and the fact that I'm used to using the Vitamix. I was dead wrong and now I find it hard to understand why anyone would pay so much money for a blender when you can have one that blends AND does so much more for a fraction of the price! I make smoothies almost every day and the blending power is incredible - it's definitely stronger than my old Vitamix (can't speak to newer models or models better than mine). The container is big and I can put all the smoothie ingredients in at once instead of a few at a time. I hit the smoothie button and the blender does all the work of blending all the ingredients and then blending them. You can stop it whenever you want and I usually stop when there are about 20 seconds or so left as the puree comes out just how I like it. Then I add some chia seeds and pulse a few times. I usually make 2 batches at a time, but if I were only making one I would use the special smoothie container that comes with the set. I also have a very nice Cuisinart food processor and just realized I made it through the whole of Thanksgiving week. without even taking out the food processor! I've made pie crust, cracker crust, and breadcrumbs using this ninja system. I haven't even used any of the blades, but I have a feeling this will render my food processor useless. I cook and bake A LOT and am very critical of kitchen appliances. I can't say enough good things about this system! And the price is out of control. This is the perfect tool for those who don't want to buy multiple devices and prefer one that can do almost everything. It might not save too much space in your kitchen as it has quite a few details (I keep the blender on the countertop and leave the various bowls and blades underneath), but it also looks quite elegant. The device is quite easy to use. clean. The blender is a little noisy, but that's to be expected, like most blenders. After using it for a few weeks I can't complain. Overall I am very excited about the Ninja Foodi Power Mixer System and know it will be of a TON of use in my kitchen.
