Works just as hoped. at the moment

Just received a few days ago and connected to the charger. From the start there was ZERO sign of it being charged. There is no red charging indicator on the back, and the front lights do not light up, and pressing the button to turn on does not work. I left it charging at about 1/2 and still nothing. Ouch. What to do? Wondering if it was drawing current from the charger, I connected it via a USB power meter and saw that it was only drawing about 100mA. Was he really dead? But I decided I would just leave it connected to the network. Checked after about 4 hours and still only drawing about 100mA. I was 100% a slacker and thought I had a slacker. But hell, I'll wait and just see what happens. So I left it on overnight and checked in the morning that it finally drew about 1.1A and did so for a couple of hours. So I left it on for a day just to suck up the charger. I turned it off tonight when the charge rate dropped to almost zero and the front lights indicated full charge with 4 green LEDs lit up when the device was powered on. I then lined up some old and useless Ni-MH AAA elements and cut off two strips of the supplied nickel tape. Turn on the device and set the power level to 2 red dots. Touching the electrodes to the nickel strip will result in the strip being welded well to the top of the cell button. I made another colon and then three more connections to other cells. I have to say it worked pretty well, making a physically strong weld at every point of contact. For the price I'm quite satisfied. This unit is available elsewhere for around $45, but I love that I can count on Revain to support me if I run into issues since it's listed as a Prime seller. There are no regrets here. I wish the wires were a little longer but they are enough to get the job done. I haven't used any nickel strips other than the ones provided, but I'm sure they will work fine with the other stock I have on hand. I recommend this mini spot welder for hobbyists.
