When I decided to upgrade my bike computer to GPS this year, it had to have HR functionality in addition to reliable readings. I first tried to discount a computer that was nearly identical in size, features, and functionality, and probably made by the same manufacturer for this well-known company as the Garmin 500. It looked chunkier but had identical screens, screen features, modes... and features like Garmin, and the HR strap was included at a price lower than the price of just the 500. The HR feature stopped working within two months, and the replacement the company sent went inside less weeks broken (irregular readings or missing). total numbers). The computer itself and all its functions worked perfectly - both devices - and the only problem was that HR stopped working, so the well-known company had a good product, except for the HR part. But no savings makes up for something that doesn't work, and three months later I'm still trying to get a refund from a reputable company. In the meantime I have bought and set up a 500 Edge. Since I was already familiar with the features and functionality, I didn't have to learn how to use the device (partially with Garmin Connect) and the easy-to-install handlebar mounts took longer to install than the device itself. And it worked great from day one. Except for the HR part. I love the HR strap and the user-replaceable battery (I've been using Polar HR monitors for 18 years and their latest transmitter is so good), but on those chilly mornings it can take up to 2 miles for the heart rate reading to register stable heart rate reading. As mentioned, I've been using a Polar product for almost 2 decades, and a quick lick of the electrodes and it shows up right away; the heart rate monitor of the well-known device that has since been discontinued (also almost identical in construction to Garmin) worked straight away. Journey. And that it works so well once plugged in, I find it hard to criticize the overall performance of both HR and the computer itself. I really like this device and I hope it will last for several years. Oh, and their customer service is generally quick, informative, and pleasant. As for HR, while I would give it a 4.5 instead of a 5, it would be unfair to give it a 4.
