Review on Lian Li UNI SL120 Addressable Controller by Tyler Cash

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I ordered two sets of three fans and three of the six fans failed

It looks like there has been a pretty big problem with previous versions of these fans and Lian-Li changes to the Fan made without updating the model number. You can recognize a newer fan version by the mounting holes. The newer version of this has oblong mounting holes instead of a circle for each. My fans all started dying in the same way, from a small rattle to an infrequent squeak to a complete squeak. Each of them was installed in a different orientation (outlet from above, fence from below, fence from the side). Their control software is very easy to use and doesn't need to be running for the fans to remember their pattern, or just use the motherboard's ARGB header to control those fans. The support was always very nice and fast when I got a new fan. If it hadn't been for that, I would have jumped to another fan.

Pros
  • Internal components
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised
