Review on Necoichi Chirimen Temari Dynasty Cat Collar - Handcrafted 🐱 in Japan with Kimono Fabric - One Size Fits All by Sara Wells

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This collar can be magic. 0_0 4.5 stars only because I had to sew the knots back in place

This collar is AMAZING! My cat hates collars. She's always hated collars. But for some reason she LOVES this collar. My Mia has to wear a collar for safety reasons even though she is an indoor cat. So, to put it mildly, the last 2 years have been difficult to find a collar for her. I have tried about 20 collars on this kitty because the moment I put one on her she starts working on getting the collar stuck in her jaw/mouth because she knows I will take it off. *sigh* I'm so glad I didn't give up because after all this time I finally found this beautiful Japanese collar. From the moment I put this on my girlfriend it was amazing. My girl tried to put it in her jaw for a few minutes but because the bell is heavy she just licked it and it didn't come in her mouth. My cat has been wearing this collar for 5 days now. (where the longest she's ever worn it was 1 hour!) and she seems to really LOVE this collar! I take it off every night before bed and put it back on in the morning. And on the 3rd day my cat started running and purring when I put the collar on her. 0_0 Seriously, what kind of witchcraft is this?! The cat that HATED collars is now RUNNING towards me and purring, so I put a collar on her?! Stick a small piece of cork inside. There is a chime inside the bell, so the cork just mutes the sound of one while the other keeps ringing - perfect for hearing the cat without tinkling with every movement all the time). She also seems to like the way it feels because unlike any other collar, she actually leaves this one alone and seems to forget it's even there most of the time until she decides he wants to play with the bell , lol. As for my feelings about this collar, I love it. However, as others have pointed out, knots allow for quick collar release. To solve this problem, I simply adjusted the collar to fit my cat and then sewed on knots with black thread to keep the collar from stretching (just a few stitches were enough). This is normal for my cat as she is already an adult. If you have a kitten, you can use small rubber bands or something makeshift to hold the knots tight enough so they won't slip off, then sew them on permanently when your kitty is older. Having to make it myself my official rating for this collar is 4.5 stars but overall I gave it a 5 because it's amazing how much my cat actually likes this collar. I plan on buying more over time because it looks so pretty peeking out from under her long fur (I'll add a photo if I can get her to hold still for once) and it gives me the added security / There is certainty that I must be able to hear where she is, and none of us will be disturbed by that sound.
