There is no better way to do this than with this handy clear glass.

I have owned and used this ruler (of the same type) for over 15 years. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find another one as mine was worn out from a lot of use. I was thrilled to find one online for a reasonable price and am very happy that I now have two. I especially love straight lines and even edges. There's no better way to check than with this handy, see-through ruler. For those who make cards and love paper crafts, this is an invaluable tool!
