Review on πŸŒ€ Ventline BVC0573-41 Ventadome Replacement Parts - Enhanced Polar White Screen for Improved Ventilation by Montez Parson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

THIS REPLACES THE NON-REMOVABLE GRID

The distance between the center of the crank hole and the center of the side bolt hole is 2.8" or 2-13/16" or just over 2-3/4". The overall dimensions of the screen frame are approximately 14 x 14 inches (exactly 13.5 x 13.5 inches). There seems to be a great lack of information on RV roof vent parts and grilles. As far as I can tell the original roof vent grilles on my 1998 motorhome are Ventline part numbers BVA0444-41 or BVA0444-31 or BVA0444-32 (I believe they are different color options). Older non-removable grilles are hard to come by, and even harder to find with exact pictures or dimensions. This screen part number obviously replaces these old numbers and possibly more. Look at my photos, I have the old and new side by side and they are superimposed so you can make sure the crank hole position matches perfectly. The rectangular switch cap was already missing. lers. I taped a piece of white card to the top of the switch hole, now it's not visible. If you are going to buy a 12v round switch roof fan you will either have to drill a hole in another corner and hope the switch wires are long enough or buy a rectangular snap switch (not expensive). from somewhere like digikey.com and remount it. If you have a 110V fan you're probably out of luck, but I'm not 100% sure as I don't have one. Obviously that white screen isn't the same color as my original, but I don't care. This is the uninterrupted functional equivalent. When the trim ring is installed, everything looks normal. I should also mention that the crank fits and works well with this screen, not perfect but good as the screen gap height is slightly larger than the original. And this screen should have a handle instead of a handle. But it works. This is a very fragile plastic and should be handled with care during installation and any future removal of the detachable screen portion. However, it is no weaker than the original and is actually an OEM part from Ventline, not an aftermarket part. Many van parts appear to be made very cheaply, probably to keep cost and weight to a minimum. Overall this part is fine and I'm glad that after a lot of research and wrong ordering I finally found a modern replacement for my 22 year old roof vent grille.
