working but not for long

Has been working great for almost 6 months and now I'm having I/O issues tracked in the event viewer in windows 10. Any use of hard drives attached to the device may freeze my system randomly (cursor still running) requiring a hard shutdown as a normal shutdown/reboot is not possible during a "hang". I thought it was my hard drive, but I removed it and tried a different hard drive. Same problem. I've also tried switching to other ports on the device but with the same issues. My system works fine when I'm not using any devices on the map. Moving the "problematic" hard drive to the motherboard's SATA connector completely resolved the situation, meaning the problem was in the card. I also checked that it is not a SATA cable. Update September 17, 2017: I have sent emails to this company but they have not bothered to bounce my messages back. Revain tried to contact the company for me but their number was disconnected during this update. As always, Revain was great and took care of the issue no matter what. I will never buy IO Crest or Syba (same company or new brand?) products again. In my case, customer service was literally non-existent.

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Sad hardware
