Do not even think about it. until . .

Works with Windows 7 on non-UEFI motherboards. Anything new is a waste of time and money. This card is simply NOT compatible with newer operating systems or hardware. Unfortunately, I/O Crest customer support gave me a lot of useless advice on how to troubleshoot the setup to get it working. When I checked it in it was too late to return it to Revain for a refund. But the problem is, it wasn't actually defective. It's just that the card is simply NOT COMPATIBLE with modern computer technology.

Doubled the speed of My SATA II to 550 Mbit/s. Asus Rampage II Extreme

So far so good. Here is my procedure as some had problems installing drivers and/or on Windows 10. I installed the card in an available slot, I haven't connected any SATA cables yet, left the original hard drive still plugged in in the original location, and then booted into Windows 10. After booting into Windows for a few minutes, I rebooted again without connect any drives. After booting into Windows one last time, I finally shut down and connected the hard drives' SATA cable to this newโ€ฆ

Instability after about three months

I really wish I would like the I/O CREST SI-PEX40057 (4-port Marvell 88SE9230) which I used first and SI-PEX40062 (4-port Marvell 88SE9235) which I bought as a replacement. They're fast, affordable, and easy to install, set up, and use... with one big caveat: instability. Each card functioned properly for several months before experiencing intermittent failures. Sometimes a card fails to enumerate or initialize. Sometimes attached drives return too many I/O errors. Sometimes they becomeโ€ฆ

It was easy to install after going through all the .

I have a Marvell 88SE9235 4 port card. I maxed out my desktop and used all seven SATA ports on the motherboard, but there was still room for another hard drive. One person can't have too much storage space, right? After a long search I decided on this card. It was easy to install after finding my way through all the cables to connect it. If I ever build another computer it will have a modular power supply so I don't have extra cables that I'm not using. to need. I didn't have to download anyโ€ฆ

Working Good: Internal Components

I installed this on an ASUS P5N-D motherboard. First I installed the card without connecting any hard drives to it. I booted up the computer. Windows 7 couldn't find the card so I installed the driver CD. This is not an autorun, so you need to find the files you need in the 92XX folder. I installed the drivers and Windows recognized the card. I turned off the computer and connected the 2 SSDs I have to the SATA card. The computer booted normally with the hard drives attached to the SATA card. I

Migrate from ESXi to FreeNas on a Dell T130. mixed results

running Dell T130 e3-1225v5 with x2 4TB HGST CoolSpin. The card required adding a special .vib file to esxi even to recognize it (don't expect to see this in the BIOS). Once I had it, I switched it to pass-through mode and connected it to FreeNAS. Everything was working fine (surprisingly) until some extensive testing last night resulted in timeouts and I/O issues with the card/disks. Both data carriers are new, there are no errors, but the card has become unusable. I restarted the virtualโ€ฆ

working but not for long

Has been working great for almost 6 months and now I'm having I/O issues tracked in the event viewer in windows 10. Any use of hard drives attached to the device may freeze my system randomly (cursor still running) requiring a hard shutdown as a normal shutdown/reboot is not possible during a "hang". I thought it was my hard drive, but I removed it and tried a different hard drive. Same problem. I've also tried switching to other ports on the device but with the same issues. My system worksโ€ฆ
