At night the bubbler volcano in my tank is only visible when I use an LED grow light pointed directly at the volcano. (See photo) The LED grow light I used looks almost like UV light but falls a little higher in the light spectrum. Without LED grow lights, all you see at night are red bubbles. I don't like the air hose coming out of the top of the volcano that much, I think I can run it under gravel substrate and rocks. I also thought it should have many options for colored LED lighting. I only have red but I don't mind, I would choose that color, the simpler the better. In daylight the colors look quite artificial, but with plant lighting at night I am very pleased with how the colors of the volcano stand out and look more realistic. The device looks good for the money. Everything worked as advertised for 2 months, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars! I was skeptical because of the bad reviews but I recommend it for a large tank. I keep mine in the back of the tank, almost like a distant prehistoric landscape with a rotting shipwreck in the foreground.
