I recently tested the Powerline+ II Lightning cables and lo and behold, Anker did it again! They upgraded Powerline+ II to Powerline+ III. There isn't much of a difference up front, but the minor changes that have been made make the amazing cable even better. The Powerline+ III has a stronger and more durable nylon braid you can feel. The cable itself feels heavier and more secure. If you even feel the case is fraying on Powerline+ II, don't worry on III. Aside from the quality and strength of the braid, which Anker says is 35 times stronger than any other cable, the change lies in the connectors. The new cables are smoother, a bit smaller and rounder than the old ones. Additionally, they have a glossy finish and are marked with the Anker brand on both USB-A and Lightning connectors. Again, these may be small changes, but I care about the details and Anker seems to agree with my views. It's also important to note that the updated cables are optimized for high-speed charging, just like the Powerline+ II! As always, Anker Lightning cables are MFi certified and also come with a lifetime warranty. This way you never have to buy a cable again because the braid is worn out or the cable is bent in such a way that you have to make that wavy motion to get it in the right place to charge your device.
