Review on 8oz Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP Leather Conditioner - Natural Oil Beeswax Formula by Mike Groover

Top applied shoes are REMOVED IN OTHER BACK PHOTOS except Timberland photos where Top applied to right side of boot All shoes have been washed Photos Saddle soap and treated with Bickmore's Bick 4 Conditioner before applying Obenauf's (a little overkill I know). Seems to be a good conditioner/protector for heavy skin, I chose Obenauf's. due to rumors that mink oil can cause skin degradation and putrefaction. Worried about sudden showers or puddles. On more natural textured leathers (my Johnston & Murphy Charlene Oxfords (black), Vince Camuto Blur Udessa, Timberland Pebbled Leather (not Nubuck) Oxfords, Birkenstocks oiled leather, Lucky Brand Cahill) they usually have a matte finish. On smoother leathers (Adidas Superstars, my Timberlands collar, Doc Martens) this leaves a shinier, butterier finish (after a few hours I buff off the excess with a soft cloth). Scratches and scuffs, but I found the finish to be pleasant. Where there were creases on the boot, I found the top to be "soaked through" more thoroughly; On naturally textured skin, wrinkled areas appeared "drier" while on smoother skin, the LP puddled and looked shinier. If you apply too much Obenauf's it will dry white so avoid it if possible. This can probably be polished with a cloth or brush. The smell was almost like honey, but slightly chemical and not pleasant. I would recommend this for deep conditioning and future environmental protection, but it will not fix any existing damage (scratches, scrapes, structural damage).
