Two mounting points required for round bike frames

This two mounting point footpeg is required if your bike frame is round near the rear wheel. Others I've tried installing (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08L86R325) just can't keep the frame strong enough and without damage to keep the footpeg from rotating and the bike falls over. .The length of the footrest is easily adjusted by pressing the red button and moving up or down the shaft. I personally don't like that it's so easy to adjust and so easy to take off. The only two times I see the need to adjust the length of a footpeg is when you're installing it on a bike for the first time, and "maybe" when you need to adjust it on uneven ground. Advantages: * Two mounting points can support different bike frame shapes. more secure* Included rubber mounting pads attach to the footplate and won't fall off Cons:* When closed, the footplate protrudes much further from the frame than other models* No instructions in the box but pretty easy to figure out. You will need a 5mm Allen key to tighten the screws. Total installation time is approximately 10 minutes or less* All three screws are unthreaded. So unless you tighten (and hold) the bolts to the frame, expect the bolts to loosen from the mount over time due to vibration. I used blue threadlocker on these screws https://www.amazon.com/Permatex-24200-Medium-Strength-Threadlocker/dp/B0002UEMZ2* I assume the bottom half of the stand will eventually be lost if the button is accidentally pressed or bumped while driving. It would be nice if there was a stopper at the end of the footrest to prevent it from completely slipping off the built-in part. Did two six mile rides with the family last weekend on a mix of firm field and paved track. and the footpeg came loose due to wear on the rubber pad leaving the aluminum footplate in direct contact with my bike frame. The pads need to be bigger and fit better to stay in place. I need to reinstall the footboard, but this time I'm going to tape some tubing over the existing moldings (wider than the current ones) to provide better protection. The position of the top clamp is also limited, it is designed for below average contact with the top attachment point even with metal contact with the bike frame as the pad was too small and moved.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Faulty
