Let me preface this review by saying that I believe Banlijian produces some of the best universal hearing amplifiers that are being sold on Revain at the moment but this set I wasn't totally impressed with based on their lack of features, performance and their price point. These came with the thin tubes pre-installed on each of the amplifiers which for me was just what I needed since I wear glasses most of the time and the thick tubes are not conducive to anyone that requires glasses although from what I understand the thicker tubes will transmit sound stronger than the thinner ones (about 5 db difference). To my way of thinking the thinner tubes just look better than having the thick tubes leading from the top of their aids. Before setting these up for wearing with the silicone ear domes and going with the process of setting the mode and the volume I let them charge for approximately 4 hours (a little longer than required) just to make sure that I would get the majority of the 18 to 20 hours on my first wear. I'm not sure why but the magnetic connection between the charging base was better on the right side than the left as far as locking the aid in place for charging. On the left side I had to wiggle it a little to get the red charging light to illuminate on its' aid. Its' light turns green after fully charging so I proceeded to add the silicone ear domes to each tube and press the power button for 3+ seconds to turn them on. Once you've turned them on you just need a short press to go to either the quiet program mode (1 beep) or the noisy program mode (2 beeps). I personally couldn't discern a big difference between the two so I adjusted the volume up and down its' spectrum. Typically I set my volume about 1 click below half way but these have 10 volume levels to select from and I felt comfortable with the higher volume settings on this set but my ENT doctor says I have moderate hearing loss. This set came complete with all accessories that you could want to get these amplifiers up and running although to me it's what I would consider a good entry level set of amplifiers for someone on a fixed budget thus my prior mentioning it may be a little overpriced at its' current price point. It does possess good sound quality so for someone with mild hearing loss I believe this set would work great for them. Banlijian has been a great company to work with when it comes to getting quick responses from their C.S. team. The following would have added at least another star to my rating of this amplifier set, had the price been in the $140 - $150 range based on the current features or if they had provided a charging case that would allow more mobility of recharging these amplifiers at the current price I would have added another star.Banglijian has a slightly more expensive set (approx. $80 more) on Revain (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BHYX6VDB?th=1) that has a charging case which after only 2 hours of charging it stores enough battery power to recharge the aids a full 5 times for a total of 120 hours without having to plug back into a wall charging cube. Also the case size of the amplifier is smaller due to newer technology. I actually consider these under priced based on the features you get with this set compared to other brands. And lastly I have to throw in my concerns about using hearing amplifiers over the overpriced prescription hearing aids that would be typically supplied by an Audiologist. I would like to state this as a general warning towards the initial use of any Hearing Amplifiers: Most people with hearing impairment probably already know this but some doctors will tell you that amplifiers can help in some mild to slightly moderate hearing impairment cases but you're left on your own to figure out if you're amplifying sounds sufficiently and not damaging your hearing from unnecessary amplification of sounds that you can still hear so my advice is if you go with these amplifier aids or any others please remember that less is better when it comes to amplification of sounds. Start with lower adjustments with your volume settings until you find something that feels comfortable. Extra loud may sound better initially but can cause further hearing loss over time.
