Review on Rechargeable BTE Hearing Aids For Seniors And Adults With Adaptive Feedback Cancellation And Layered Noise Reduction - Two Sound Tube Options, Latest Upgrade, Including Charging Dock (Pair) by Miguel Escobar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Small, lightweight, 18 hours of use, excellent sound, superb NR, but single-mic, non-charging case.

These are very well-made hearing aids. They come with a charging base that will let you recharge both hearing aids overnight. The hearing aid pieces and the charging base both have magnets and when you place the hearing aids in the charger, they pop into the proper place. It takes several hours until the green charging LED on the hearing aids lights up. After charging, the hearing aids can be used for approximately 18 hours non-stop, i.e. more than enough for a full day. The accessory also comes with a small carrying case but unfortunately, it's only for carrying and does not provide any charging on-the-go capabilities I've seen in other models of hearing aids. The accessory includes twelve sizes of ear tips, each size has two shapes. So, it will be easy to find the proper fit for your ears. Also, you will find a USB charging cable that plugs into the charging base and a set of cleaning tools. The device is very lightweight, fits well behind the ears, and is almost invisible. The weight of the hearing aid is so light that you hardly feel it while wearing it. A thin transparent tube connects the amplifier to the small in-ear earpiece. The amplifier has one microphone as far as I can tell. The volume and mode controls are located on one side of the amplifier. Hearing aids have two listening modes (for quiet and for noisy environments) that you can switch between to better suit your situation and hearing conditions. In addition, this hearing aid includes 2 types of sound tubes to choose from, which I haven't seen before in other products out there. The left and right hearing aids work fully independently, so adjusting the volume or mode on one side does not change the settings on the other. Package includes a manual with detailed instructions and colored illustrations for the use and care of hearing aids. The couple of complaints I have are that the color of the amplifier piece is dark grey, and it is much more visible behind your ears compared to the skin-tone color hearing aids I've seen before. Also, the earpiece is somewhat bulky and feels a bit less comfortable compared to others I've tried. In addition, I much better prefer dual mic hearing aids that provide better sound pickup at different frequencies. But it comes with a quite advanced digital noise reduction processor that they call "4 Channels Layered Noise Reduction Adaptive Feedback". I don't know what it means but it helps a lot to dramatically improve sound quality, so I'm not complaining too much about the single mic.So, let's summarize. It's lightweight, much cheaper than others, has noise cancellation, is very responsive, and provides particularly good sound reproduction. These hearing aids sound a little more "mechanical" in a sense at first than others I've tried, but once you get used to it, it gets less and less noticeable. When I tried these hearing aids while walking in a forest, I was surprised to hear high notes and small whispers that normally you wouldn't be able to hear at all. As we get older, our ears pick up low frequencies but lose the ability to hear high frequencies well. Thanks to these, you can get wide and deep sounds of forest that you may have unknowingly missed.*** TL;DR ***Yes, I most definitely recommend these hearing aids. If you have hearing loss and are hesitant to buy hearing aids because of the cost, buy these now. If you currently use hearing aids, I would recommend purchasing them as spare hearing aids. The charger is small enough to take it with you on your travels. If you are worried about wearing expensive hearing aids when hiking or gardening, then put these on instead. I think these are worth every penny, and unless you have a severe hearing loss, I think this will solve your hearing problem in most cases. Besides a few drawbacks like non-charging carrying case, strange choice of dark grey color, single mic, and a bit bulky earpiece, it's excellent for its price. And with 2 types of sound tubes, 47 dB amplification level, plus advanced digit noise reduction - it gets a solid 5 stars from me.+++ Pros +++1) Small and lightweight.2) Very good sound reproduction.3) Two modes of operation.4) Whopping 47 dB amplification!5) Advanced 4-channel noise reduction.6) Includes 2 types of sound tubes to choose from.7) Up to 18 hours of operation.--- Cons ---1) Single microphone, not as good as dual mic.2) Carrying case is not charging.3) Both sides are independently controlled.4) Can't be used as earphones, no Bluetooth.
