Review on 🔇 Optimized Soundproof Flush Mount Ceiling Light by Matthew Maxwell

The 4" diameter lantern is incorrect on the stock chart. Actual outside diameter is 5.5 inches. The plastic cap is 4 inches in diameter. See photo for scale with 3 x 5 inch map. The light fits very easily into a 4" round J-box, the lantern has slots on the back that fit snugly with the 4" round J-box screws. The mount also has the hardware needed for other box sizes/types. Installation is easy for the typical homeowner. enough but not complete. It illuminates a 10 x 10 foot room, but you'll likely need more than one light source. All LEDs are placed closer to the center of the light source, leaving a slightly dark ring around the outer edge of the lens. The dark ring is not visible in the photo, but if you look into the light your eyes will have to get used to it, you can see it. Again typical for this kind of light. The case is aluminum and gets very hot when in use. Also hot, comfortable to hold. There's a foam pad on the back, probably to reduce noise filtering through the open J-Box from one room to another. The 3000K temperature LED light is incandescent color and lumens and incandescent equivalent are upbeat. It's more like a 40W incandescent bulb. In my application that's fine and this light will do exactly the job I need it to do.
