The best thing about them is that they are very strong with an internal wire frame. The two hooks are on the left and right ends of each side so they hang towards the back of the bike, away from your (my) big feet. A standard shopping bag or reusable shopping bag slips in instantly and stays in place. They have mesh sides, so they're not waterproof. I wish the manufacturer had offered a waterproof lid or at least a stretch fabric top to tighten the top of the pockets to keep things inside, but I bought that separately.
