Everything is just right with this processor. Depending on which motherboard you choose, you will notice a difference in performance. I choose AsRock W480 Creator. Anandtech.com has a great article about this processor. Also, Steve at Gamers Nexus has great information on how the 10700k performs with different motherboards. On my board I saw that during Cinebench r23 the power consumption reached 183W at 4.6MHz for about 50 seconds, then the CPU power consumption drops to 95W and it slows down to 3.6MHz. When I actually encode the video, it consumes 82 watts at 4.6MHz. So it depends what you do. I use a Noctua NH U 9s dual fan cooler. Temperatures average 68 degrees Celsius. It idles at 29 C and 30 watts when surfing the web or using Microsoft Word. There aren't many players these days, but it consumes around 40W and the temperature is around 60C. I love it and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if needed.
