Assembling this item wasn't very difficult but definitely not easy. The instructions were nothing more than vague diagrams of the parts that needed to be assembled and it took me quite a while to put them together. After putting it together I could clearly tell that something was wrong and that's because this chair doesn't recline, it just sits SUPER forward, or you can use one of the levers to keep it upright whichever way you choose. That's all. When I first leaned back in my chair, the plastic case on the backrest cracked and snapped. (I weigh 140 pounds) That's not all. Armrests are not adjustable as expected. They are a LITTLE adjusted to be more internal or external which I found useless BECAUSE. Armrests are SUPER short. I'm a small person and my elbows couldn't touch or rest on the armrests, which ended up being a shoulder killer for me. Should I even mention the headrest? LOL, because this ergonomic chair curves outward at the top to complement your spine, the headrest doesn't even slide forward or low enough to support your neck or even your head. Its set height is very small and it wasn't low enough to support my head/neck. (I'm 5ft 4in) The headrest/headrest could only be used if I just tilted my head back and looked at the ceiling. Overall the only thing that was great was the arch support itself. Even the trellis on the chair. was nothing special (just cheap foam) I was really VERY disappointed because I saw such great reviews and for the price I got a good ergonomic chair but it was just a bad buy, I waited for it for over a week. I might try some gaming chairs or something because neck support is key and they usually come with adjustable arch pads. So send that back and we'll see how long the refund takes.
