Review on Upgraded Current USA eFlux DC Flow Pump – 1050, 1900, and 3170 GPH Flow Ranges for Ultra Quiet Submersible or External Installation, Suitable for Saltwater & Freshwater Systems by John Ghattamaraju

Replaced my 14 year old Iwaki MD40 (Japanese engine) and a different brand pump that fed my reactor and skimmer.1. This pump is QUIET! From day one, Iwaki sounded like it belonged on a diesel freight train. This pump only emits a low hum, and when the water flows through the overflows and sump, you don't even hear it. 2. I have an IC Marine lightbar and wave pumps so I added them to the network for feed mode. In feeding mode, the flow is reduced to 30% and the wave generators are stopped to allow fish and coral to feed. 30% is supposed to prevent backflow, but I like it because it's enough to keep the feed floating and off the sand and rocks, but not enough to get the fish to work for it.3. Power consumption reached 88 watts compared to 140 watts for the Iwaki and 80 for the other pump. I track my pump usage with smartthings plugs with built in counters. I have set up notifications where no power consumption triggers a text notification and an app notification in 15 minutes.4. The flow is very good, I connected it to the return and the outlet to also feed the skimmer and the reactor. I had 6 returns and disabled 2 as I also use wave generators which more than make up for the loss of sand level return lines. The EV-180 skimmer produces wet foam and the reactor has good flow for the coal and whatever I put in there. Two bad things, and they're only minor, are the 1.5" and 1" barbed connectors, so I had to adjust my 1" pitch to 1.5, and the power cord was too short to fit the grommet socket reachable in the canopy. Buy an extension cord from Current to reach it. If the cord was long, like powerheads, it would be better.
