TL;DR - Use this connector for a 90 degree tilt when the latch is facing down. The whole "angle up" and "angle down" is pretty confusing. I took this to plug into the socket located at the back of the room to route the cord to the other side. For me my release tab was put on the socket and it worked great. I plugged in, connected the cable and walked to the square, plugged it in and everything worked fine. The good thing was that the kit comes with 2 connectors.
