The color is not that bright, a bit softer/thinner than the picture. It's not a problem for me, I expected it. The tapers are a bit sharper and shorter in my opinion than my last set. No problem either, I have thin earlobes lol. One thing that can be a problem is the small protrusion on the cylindrical wear part of the cones. Can damage the delicate skin inside so I use a metal nail file. I'm not sure why you put the thorn on the wearing part of the earring, but as I won't be wearing the pegs for more than 24 hours I hope everything is ok. Worst case I just use my original black cones when judging. Ultimately, I bought this set primarily for breech tunnels (because I keep losing the linings for the set I originally bought and waking up with puckered holes). The tunnels don't have spikes so overall I'm happy with this set.
