Review on πŸ” Rechargeable LED Lighted Magnifying Glasses for Close Work, 160% Magnification, Blue Light Blocking, Hands-Free, Black by Stephanie Thompson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good wearing comfort, clarity. Disappointing climb, lights; BREAK in 1 month!

=== See UPDATE at the end =-== The description of these glasses DOES NOT state that you will receive TWO PAIRS with your order. I ordered one of these and received two pairs. I went back and looked at the headline and saw that they were advertised as "160%, 200%" zoom, so I guess I got that - one of each. When they arrived I tried on each pair and could not tell any difference in magical power between the two pairs I received. Maybe once I get used to it I'll notice the difference. ADVANTAGES: The best thing about these lenses is that they are COMPLETELY OPTICALLY CLEAR. I haven't seen any blurry spots anywhere when looking through these glasses. For me, that's the most important thing about any pair of glasses. The second best thing about them is comfort. I can wear them for hours and forget they're on me. Since the lenses are glass, you can also clean the stains with a soft cloth without fear of scratching them like you can with plastic lenses. inches to just over eighteen inches. This is a big plus. DISAPPOINTMENT: First, even though they are advertised as "160%, 200%" increases, they are not. The pair I've been wearing for the past few days have a 16% increase at best. I'm guessing they could call it 116%, but that's still nowhere near the advertised increase. In order to be magnified 100%, something must appear twice as large. I think they meant that 100% is 100% view size or normal size, so their "160%" would mean 60% larger than normal size or 60% enlarged. If so, what appears 10 cm long without glasses should be 16 cm long with glasses. This doesn't happen. What really happens is that with glasses, a real 10 cm object appears 11.6 cm long. That's the first disappointment. The second disappointment was the built-in light sources. There are two of them outside the lenses. These are LED lights and the on/off switches are easy to find and intuitive to use. However, they're only one brightness (double if you count "out"), which isn't good enough for those old eyes to actually see anything. In addition, their focus is about ten degrees higher than when viewing comfortably. This trick is probably because their instructions say that we have to wash them at the tip of the nose, and if you do that, the light focus is fine. The parallax of the light is such that the two lights converge about 10 inches in front of your eyes and this is not adjustable. I don't see frustration with light sources as a decisive factor because I can always fall back on outside light. Source and do so often. I WOULD BUY THESE AGAIN WHILE I KNEW WHAT I KNOW NOW: Yes. They offer enough of what I need so unless I can find others with better magnification I would buy them. Of course, your feelings may be different. The above is just my subjective assessment of these glasses. ====== UPDATE ====== After using these glasses for about 3 1/2 weeks I picked them up to put them on and the earpiece broke. out. I reattached it with glue, but if something breaks with normal use, that's unacceptable shortly after purchase. For this reason I lowered my rating to 2 stars.
