I've never used combination drills and taps but now I'm wondering how I managed without them. I had to drill and cut some holes in a piece of acrylic for some PCB racks. I've had terrible luck with a drill press and a separate set of taps. I picked them on a whim, although some reviewers have indicated they might break when used on steel. Obviously I shouldn't have a problem with a steel cutter chipping when drilling through plastic, so I gave it a try. Results? Drill holes quickly, cut perfectly. My racks and boards were installed in record time. I would highly recommend this product, at least for those planning to use them with softer materials.
