I've been using an iPad Mini 2 for 6.5 years, recently I bought a 2018 iPad Pro 11 inch to replace it about a week ago. The Mini 2 remains a great iPad and I plan to continue using it as a bedside clock radio and as a book reader. The iPad Pro will be my portable work computer, and I'll read comics - erm, graphic novels - on it because they're much more enjoyable on its big screen. Since I will be walking around a lot with the iPad Pro, I needed a case. Since I will be typing a lot on the iPad Pro, I needed a keyboard. I had a Logitech Keyboard Case with an iPad Mini and was quite happy with it when using the iPad Mini as a portable work computer, so I decided to buy another Logitech Key Case for the iPad Pro I have with an iPad Mini used on Revain's Logitech Ultra-Slim Keyboard for iPad Mini page. If you're looking for the new Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro but comparing the $300 price for it to the $100 price for the Logitech Slim Folio, I'm sorry but Apple's key case isn't $200 dollars better. If I ever need a trackpad (which I doubt) I have a spare Apple trackpad and a couple of Bluetooth mice, and they all work great with iPadOS 13.4 or later. Even the currently available Apple Key Case is $150 if you can find it on sale, usually $180. This Logitech Slim Folio Pro was very similar to the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio I used with the iPad Mini, so I was confident it would do the job for me. In fact, the two key cases are very similar. The Slim Folio Pro is bigger (obviously) but also a lot stronger. The old Ultrathin did a great job of protecting the iPad Mini from scratches and scuffs, as well as minor splashes and a couple of brief drops - my iPad Mini still looks almost brand new! The Ultrathin is showing its age, however, as one of the retention corners and main fold spine are broken - the corner doesn't matter (the cracked corner power button still works with no issues and still holds tight). ), but the back had to be reinforced with tape. The other damage is reasonably expected wear and tear considering how I've used it (and accidentally abused it on occasion). Compared to the corners, the new Slim looks a lot sturdier, and I don't expect the same corner cracking issue, except for heavy drops on a hard surface (if you want the case to rip so your iPad doesn't rip). I am concerned about the Slim's spine, however, because while it's more durable than Ultrathin, that area will be subject to frequent flexing and other stresses. Just take a look. It wasn't difficult, but it did take a while to fully seat the iPad Pro into the Slim Key Case. I don't see myself plugging and unplugging it often or at all, except just once a month or three to clean it. Inserting and removing the iPad Mini from the ultra-thin key case was much quicker, prompting me to pull it out so I could use it in "manual mode" from time to time; I don't think I can do anything special or anything with the iPad Pro and Slim Keycase, I think it will freeze in "Laptop Mode" all the time. The keyboard itself is awesome! Unlike the Ultrathin designed for the smaller iPad Mini, very few compromises had to be made to squeeze all the buttons into the available space. It feels like a good laptop keyboard, great "feel" and travel, I can type at full speed. Although I'm good at touch typing, I love the backlight! Please note that there are really only 2 backlight levels, the third level is "off". The 2 backlight levels hardly differ from each other, the lower level should have been made darker. The function buttons are really useful, I use them a lot instead of swiping or pressing the Power/Top or Volume/Side buttons on the iPad Pro. This keyboard case is great for turning your iPad Pro into a laptop replacement. Not that I've given up my desktop Mac, but for the 11-inch iPad Pro on the go, this Logitech Slim Folio Key Case is perfect for my needs. The iPad + Key Case isn't bulky, but together they feel heavy, especially when held in one hand for reading. It's not impossible, but it gets uncomfortable even if I lean a little on my legs or stomach and bend over on the couch. The iPad Mini, despite its ultra-slim body, is better suited for most portable uses, especially reading - one of the reasons I'm keeping my old Mini, even though it can't run the latest iOS and is a bit late otherwise. With Revain permission, I am including a series of images of my 2018 11-inch iPad Pro with this Logitech Slim Folio Key Case, which match similar images of my 2013 iPad Mini 2 in its Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio Case. Please note that the photos showing damage and wear are from an old ultra thin case that is 6.5 years old. I'm showing them here for comparison, the new housing is NEW, so it's still in perfect condition and hopefully will remain so for a long time. Please note this is Logitech Slim Folio Pro for iPad Pro 11 2018. When using it, it will fit the 2020 iPad Pro 11-inch, but covering the larger camera array, the camera cutout is designed to fit the smaller 2018 model array. In April, Logitech releases a redesigned Slim Folio Pro with a larger camera array cutout that fits the 2020 iPad Pro snugly. Make sure you get this newer version if you buy a 2020 iPad Pro. The new one also fits the 2018 iPad Pro.
