This is the BEST GENERAL Radar Detector yet

I'll give you the short version: If you're looking for the best speed camera detector available today, this is it. Escort MAX360c. They have built-in Wi-Fi which allows this thing to work incredibly well alongside connected cars, highly visible 360 degree threat detection arrows (and they're spaced apart so I can tell where the threat is coming out of the corner of my eye without even looking at the detector), top-notch escort auto-learning technology that's way ahead of the competition, perfectly working IVT filtering, one of the strongest and most reliable mounts I've ever used (with simple magnetic tripping and nothing to break) and a connection to the Escort Live app application to collect your police/speed camera/accident alerts (free the first year, $49 thereafter, but $49 is more than worth it to me). To be honest, this thing is so quiet that when I get an alert I know it's real. And he discovers in advance, almost always miles away, that if you don't slow down when you get to the police station, you honestly deserve a ticket. I've compared it to the ESCORT MAX360, Uniden R7 and Valentine V1, all of which I've lived and ridden for 4 full weeks of testing. one of the other three. Now that other companies have arrows, it's just a noisy, outdated, and overpriced detector. Totally disconnected and faking so much you could only limit your speed the whole time. It still has a good range, but it's also lagging behind. I see no reason to buy this detector other than nostalgia. He was great in his time, even the best, but he was surpassed by far. Sorry V1 lovers. Second, the Escort MAX360 is a very good kit, and it's cheaper too! In terms of detection range, I would rate it very close to 360c, maybe a little less, but I could be wrong on that. But there's no WiFi, and its arrows are pretty small and are all on the right, which usually forces you to take your eyes off the road and look at the detector to see where the threat is coming from. A slightly different mount but still based on a magnet so the detector can be removed quickly and easily and is almost impossible to break. Overall this is a great detector, just under 360c. To be honest, if you don't have a connected car, the small differences might not be worth paying the extra $100 for a 360c (although you can still use Wi-Fi 360c via a dedicated hotspot or cellphone, and most people have a hotspot-enabled phone anyway). The latest is the Uniden R7. Like the MAX360 and 360c, this is a great detector but for different reasons. In terms of sensitivity, it's nothing short of incredible. If I had to guess I'd say it just beats the escort detectors BUT the escort detectors give you so much range anyway that the Uniden gain doesn't count in real use. I mean, with Uniden you can know about the speed trap seconds before any of the Escort detectors trigger, but the Escort detectors already give you a ton of time to slow down - so there's very little real gain here, though I do Uniden think a little more sensitive. The mount isn't that bad, but I don't find it as good/sticky as Escort's. I've found my wired detector on the Uniden mount more often than on the Escort. And that's with the single cup mount, the dual cup mount is rubbish; I don't know why Uniden includes this at all. Additionally, the Uniden glides with an audible click that can break over time (if it has happened to other metal detectors in the past). The arrows on this thing are lovely - not only does it display a giant arrow when it's warning, but its screen is appropriately tilted towards the driver (something the 360c completely missed). Overall, the 360c split hands are still easier to spot out of the corner of your eye, but the R7 comes in second. The screens on both the Escort and Uniden are nice bright OLEDs (as is the MAX360 btw), I prefer the Escort colors but that's just me; may seem insignificant, but in everyday use it's the little things that count. Now about the shortcomings of R7 that caught my eye. self-learning? This is completely MIA. Yes, you can still turn off bogus messages manually, but Escort's auto-learning is much easier to use (or rather not to use, since it requires literally no interaction). Maybe not a big deal if you don't mind the initial setup with the R7, but I just prefer to be less involved and do less work (and the Escort has never let me down with its auto-learning ie .Not once accidentally muted real threat). Communication and crowdsourcing are also absent from Uniden, which means that the escort live app is a huge plus. The live app already gives me a lot of additional information about my area (big city) and I expect this information will only grow. You can even use the app without your own detector to get alerts from others. Some apps like Waze also try to provide this information, but I find that the live app provides better and more relevant alerts. If a cop is trying to catch you and not aiming at someone in front of you, the app may be the only thing that can save you if someone using the app flags them first (which happened to me). The only thing I really think the R7 has an advantage over the 360c is the R7's claim that the Specter I and IV are undetectable. If you live in a ridiculously backward state where speed camera detectors are actually illegal, this could be a selling point. The only comparable product from Escort is the Redline EX, which is also a great detector. It probably matches or exceeds the R7 range BUT there are no arrows. So if you need an undetectable detector, consider the R7. In any case, I don't live near those specific areas, so I don't care if my radar detector picks it up. So if you're looking for the best overall detector, the Escort MAX360c beats them all if you can afford it. take it - you will not be disappointed. And that's really only the downside - the overall cost, but you get a heck of a lot of features and functionality for your money (features not available anywhere else). Although I will say that all of the above detectors (except for the very outdated V1) are excellent. By the way, I also have an M1 DVR that is attached to this type of parasite. Can be viewed here: https://www.amazon.com/ESCORT-M1-Dash-Cam-Compatible/dp/B07HGJPWSP I found the image quality to be very good and I loved how seamless everything looks and just works - no separate wires . But overall the camera is overpriced for what it is - it's a DVR with a Wi-Fi connection. Still fun story. That totally saved me - it's been sitting on a shelf unopened since Christmas, and the day after New Year's I just happened to decide to install it before I left. might as well install it as it seemed easy to install. Literally 20 minutes later I was in an accident (not my fault) that caused thousands of dollars in damage to my car and it takes about two full weeks to complete the repair. So I decided to keep it out of loyalty because it saved me from any lies the other driver might have told. I also appreciate the fact that it connects to your phone via Wi-Fi, so you can instantly view footage on your phone. I was able to stop and immediately show the footage to the officer so he could easily see how the other driver hit me without warning. But generally there are cheaper DVR options that work just as well (or better if you need/want a rear camera). there was when i was younger but now for some reason i feel naked without a good radar detector.

Pros
  • 360 DEGREE PROTECTION. The front and rear antennas locate threats around your entire vehicle and alert you with on-screen arrows that indicate the direction of the threat relative to your location.
Cons
  • No automatic
