This is a well made MINI Ball Head. The fit and finish of this product is very good, but you must understand that it is not a liquid ball head, it is a friction ball. Just loosen the tension knob slightly, the ball seat moves VERY FREE. So be prepared to use both hands when making adjustments. The tension knob releases both the ball seat and mounting base for rotation. So you get ball seat motion and rotary motion at the same time. The round mounting pad threads onto a 1/4-20 socket head screw, allowing you to mount anything directly to the cap screw without interfering with the round stand. if you choose In fact, the only downside I see is the lack of any resistance in the ball seat. I can build something into the socket to reduce excessive range of motion when not under tension. All in all a very good product.
