Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best investment I've made in the kitchen in the last 17 years

Like. I have some that are 17 years old and still look good as new. They are ideal for storing everything from flour and sugar to oatmeal, rice, dry beans, granola, barley and other cereals. Everything I like to buy in bulk goes in them. I've moved several times since using them so they sat on separate shelves in the large pantry in the big house and sat on top of the fridge in the small apartment. In any case, they are comfortable and keep you fresh. I've stacked them 5 or 6 and they fit perfectly in the lid of whatever is underneath and stay stable, don't tip over and the weight doesn't warp the lids. When it comes to baking, there's no substitute for how much easier it is to scoop up the right amount of ingredients than from bags. I love buying Bob's Red Mill products in bulk from Revain and these containers are perfect for storing them or anything from the bulk aisle at the grocery store. Lately I've been buying a few small ones for things like loose tea. I like that they are square and have the same base size which makes them easy to fold. My latest configuration is in the kitchen of a small apartment where the only space is above the cabinets. Visitors always comment on how fun, colorful and homey they look - almost a decorative element [see photo]. Photo]. Because they are transparent, you can see exactly what you have, both in terms of ingredients and how much is left. Since I started using a lot of different flours and cereals that look similar, I printed unique labels with names. They may seem a bit pricey at first but I've slowly built up my collection over the years and they last forever and work so well I think they're worth every penny. When my daughter got her first apartment she asked for one for her first Christmas because it was so cumbersome to bake with flour and sugar compared to what she was used to at home. I've been using them for almost 20 years now and everything I've ever bought is still in perfect condition, almost indistinguishable from brand new - you just can't beat it. Of course I'm a big fan and am constantly adding to my collection. I can't recommend them enough!
