Consider it the perfect desktop COMPUTER speaker for enjoying music

For those who enjoy listening to music while plugged in, this (and possibly other similar ones) may be just what you need. I have high quality musical instruments. In general, audiophile music and computers are mutually exclusive. I'll use my expensive DAC, headphones and speakers for listening to music, and computer speakers for things like YouTube. Sound mechanisms are inconvenient when used simultaneously with a computer. Have tried different types of computer speakers over the years but have been very dissatisfied. I recently tried one that was in good condition, but quickly sent it back. I know there's a Bose for $250. Having several Bose's, however, I'm fairly familiar with its sonic signature and know it probably won't sound natural to me. I gave up my old soundbar paired with a subwoofer and figured that was all I could do. Then I stumbled upon these tiny powered speakers that I normally avoided a long time ago. After much research I decided to try yu4. The fact that it is for sale also helped me in my decision. The u6 should have more bass but it's too big for computer speakers and I still have a subwoofer. So I got the u4 and oh my god it sounds good. The subwoofer helped a little in the bass range, but since the speakers are quite close to my ears, the bass sounded quite deep and punchy and not muddy (to me) even with the subwoofer inactive. I even tried connecting it to my DAC and surprisingly the sound got even better. This is something a regular computer speaker couldn't do. Sound stage, visualization, clarity - all at the highest level, at least for a "computer speaker". In my setup I increase the treble by two notches and the bass by one notch. The subwoofer is tuned to around 90 Hz and 180 degrees. The only feature I hope is an indication of a volume setting somewhere or some way. Switching from Computer Optical to my DAC to Aux Line was a nasty surprise to everyone in my house. I took precautions, but without an indicator available, I still grossly underestimated the resulting net loudness of the combination. Of course, if I want to listen to the maximum, I still have to go back to my other programs. But now I can enjoy reasonable sound quality while using my computer. It's very, very comfortable and therefore satisfying.
