One of my Toyota Yaris keys broke at a local dealer while the car was being repaired and the dealer didn't even admit it was his fault was. Instead of arguing with them since they didn't even plead guilty, I decided to try this $6.95 substitute. Ideal! The local hardware store refused to cut it because they said it was a liability issue, but the local locksmith cut it for $2 without question. I replaced all the guts and rearranged the chip and this key works and starts the car. After reading the negative reviews, I want to say: Please understand what you are ordering. It's just an uncut metal rod and an empty plastic case with buttons. It has no electronic parts, no transmitter, no chip, and this key is not self-programmable. But it has slots for everything. So if you have a working remote and a chip removed from your old key, you can put it in the slot in that key and your car will start. If that doesn't work then either your new key was cut incorrectly or your old chip is damaged.
