No no - bad design

I was surprised how bad the design of this product is. It does its job - quickly boils water and shuts off. There are some annoying and confusing things. First, the bank doesn't close when a certain combination of things happens, which I was able to achieve on the first try. It has something to do with leaving the pot empty and then opening the lid slightly so the heating element doesn't turn off. I now unplug it after each use as it stayed on all night the first time I used it. The second issue I have is that the switch needs to be on and you can barely see if the light is on or not. Manufacturers have been making nice, bright switches for years, so I can't understand why they haven't used better technology. Third, the switch is flimsy and loose, making it difficult to tell if it's on or off. By the way, this is not visible in the photo, but at the bottom of the pan there is a metal bar in which the heating element is located. I think that makes sense, but when I looked at it I thought it was all glass inside. So, this pot looks good but is poorly designed and while it does the job I wouldn't buy it again. I'm a bit disappointed considering I just bought another style for my mum that was much better finished and had a nice blue interior lighting. Sigh.
