First, some pictures in the listing might be a bit misleading about the size of this recorder. True dimensions are shown in the same image along with the mobile phone and lighter, but the item is larger than these comparison photos would suggest. It's a little shorter than a Bic lighter (not about half the length as in any of the pictures). My photos show this item next to (and underneath) a common American deadbolt key (which I carved from Lowe). In my work, I sometimes need a record of what's being said to cover my ass. I used my phone, which got the job done, but not very efficiently: I was plagued by grating noises in my pocket that rendered recordings unusable, and I couldn't listen to music or take calls while the audio was being recorded. I needed a different method and found this recorder. This little guy is great. It comes with a micro USB controller and a pair of headphones that can be plugged in at the same time, allowing you to watch your recordings straight from the device. I don't use this feature much. I save the recordings to my computer, which is easy (my computer automatically recognized the plug and play device). This recorder has a battery and has lasted all day for several days now. I just plug it in at night (with my phone, bluetooth headphones and all) and put it in my bag in the morning. I feel this recorder is more designed to be placed in one place and left there for a long time. Time (It's small, easy to hide, it has long battery life. I'm sure you can connect the dots). Can't comment on it as I haven't used the voice recorder in this way but it works well for what I need it for and hence it's a 5 star item for me.
