I used it on my crappy wooden dining table and it left marks. Wouldn't recommend unless you use it on an ironing board or something more heat resistant. And no, I didn't leave the iron in one spot for more than a few seconds.

The product was folded and had many folds. The inner padding appears to have stretched when folded, leaving the bulges permanent. Suitable for thicker fabrics, but will cause creases on lighter fabrics when ironed.

It was a good buy. I was looking for an ironing board for my large cutting table. It was the biggest I could find. It does a great job as I can lay out and iron a large piece of fabric before cutting and ironing the entire quilt in my lap without leaving a lot of dust on the floor with a standard ironing board.

This ironing mat does not provide adequate protection for the surface underneath. Steam and heat are quickly transferred to the underlying surface and can damage it. It would be helpful to have a backing on the mat that prevents heat and water transfer to protect these surfaces. I could use a towel folded in half and get the same results.

This ironing pad was vacuum packed all shrunk into a tiny pouch! After unpacking, the smell was very strong and the pad is so crumpled that it cannot be used as an ironing surface! What happened to last year's product that got so much better? I'm sending it back unusable. Very disappointed!

Got it two years ago and it's still good. Super practical for large chunks! BUT the heat and steam from the iron penetrates through the mat and you will see a lot of condensation on the surface underneath. So I would never use it on glass! Sometimes I use it as a wooden table, but I usually have a foldable plastic table that I take out when I use it.
